Life, with all its twists and turns, is a hell of a ride. Lows teach us to appre­ciate highs, in a real world blinded by the digital. The old expression “Mit Ach und Krach”, which describes a mix­ture of narrow escape and pain­staking success, is the thematic leit­motif of this issue. It is about that moment when every­thing is on a knife's edge and yet a work of art, an idea or an unfor­gettable moment is created.

This specific pro­verb, as old as our language itself, reminds us that creative work is often a struggle. “Mit Ach und Krach” is not a state of well-­being, but a tight­rope walk, a game with boun­daries, a balancing act between failure and triumph. And it is precisely there, in this state of un­cer­tainty, that the true magic often unfolds.

This magazine will be the first in a series. Each with a different proverb. Each time with works by artists from all possible disciplines. Painting, drawing, graphic design, photography, ... – everything that can be used to make emotions and ideas tangible.
